Mission: Number Nine Pointy Place #3 July 31st 2020

Troupe: Wheeze, Chum, Ivern, Floyed and Halcyon
Garage Leader: Ro
Medium: Spatially Enhanced RPG*
*i.e., played in my garage, players separated and doors open.

Dardigalish decides to go back to the skiff (this is how we deal with an absent player, their CO takes themselves out of the action).

Our troupe now only has four hours remaining to complete the mission. They have a key, all they need to do is find and figure out what it unlocks.

Sneaking Chum past the party guests on the third floor is presenting a problem. So far the two Sneaks have been trying to use modded Tricky Balls to do this, but this hasn’t worked. The thinking now is that maybe walking up the stairs to the second floor will fire up some kind of inspiration. Better than standing around.

The pair climb the stairs and discover the second floor is filled with giant glass display cases. The nearest contains an aged hume Arcanist, a diminutive Kremloc and a sneaky looking bi-peedal Cattoid. They are frozen in clear marrowite. The legend above them says: “Here’s what happens to crypt openers who get caught”. Chum notices the hume's eyes are twitching. Wheeze scribes a circle and knocks a hole in the case. Clear goo begins oozing out onto the floor in big globs. The frozen characters inside slowly start moving. The Cattoid makes a move to slip through the hole, but is blocked by Wheeze. As the goo slops around their ankles the newly freed group makes a case for why the other should help them. A rough consensus is reached after Ivern, the hume Arcanist shakes Wheeze’s magically flaming hand. They both agree “if Ivern helps Wheeze find the papers, then Ivern will help Wheeze find the "Deck Of Exploding Cats”. Apparently, this other group was looking for this deadly swag item in the mansion when they got caught. Whoopsie.

Halcyon is a cattoid sneak, played by Justina.

Ivern is a hume Arcanist, played by Mark.(No Pic)

Floyd is a kremlock, played by James.

Our new troupe begins inspecting all the cases. One has small flat crystal balls, another a funny looking helm, yet another a spoon. The collection all seem to be things once used by the now long defunct ancients. Halcyon pushes the button on the spoon and a tan polyhedral in a reddish savory appears. The artifacts of the ancients are marvels, but fiddling with them now is a distraction.

Wheeze and Halcyon decide to use their sneaky skills to scale the outside of the mansion in order to check out The Mighty Chad's personal living area on the top floor. They discover the usual divans, curtains and hot tubs. They also find a twelve foot long sleeping Warmite on a bed of straw. They quickly climb back down and rejoin the rest of the party. Floyd uses his divine connection with Ishtar to summon a miraculous chariot which is able to transport everyone to the uppermost floor. They poke around and eventually decide that what they are looking for is underground. Ishtar's chariot is summoned a second time to move everyone back to the ground floor. Halcyon uses her gut feeling skill and informs everyone that she believes the entrance to the underground vault is behind the warmite, up on the top floor, most likely behind the curtain. The troupe goes back. Wheeze and Halcyon attempt to assassinate the giant pillbug, and nearly succeed. It is Chum, however, who saves the day by killing the beast with his bare claws.

Without hesitation the group jumps into the telaportal behind the curtain.
